Art Evolves Consciousness
This series (in progress) is a contemplative journey, a meditation on the profound connection between light, the human spirit and enlightenment. It is an exploration of the visible light spectrum and the corresponding colors of the seven chakras, energy centers within our body that govern our psychological and spiritual well-being.
In these minimalist oil paintings, I employ a restrained palette to evoke the quiet simplicity of enlightenment.
In The Enlightenment Campaign the message is the medium. The physical medium is digital prints aluminum or canvas. These messages are meant to be shared, posted and propagated with the ultimate hope that the more we can circulate radically equitable ideas of fairness and a non-patriarchal culture that ends domination, the better our society becomes for all Americans - male, female, black, white, Asian, brown, gay or straight.
For all the steps forward we have taken as a society towards equality justice and freedom, we took a massive step back with the elimination of federally guaranteed abortion rights and continue to see the oppression of people of color by our institutions.
